MICROWAVE POPCORN
|
Microwave Popcorn is a great
invention ...but its expensive when
you take into account how little
goes in the stuff , and even worse
,it contains chemicals designed to
make your brain believe you're
actually tasting butter .
The problem with this is ...some of
the fake butter chemicals put in
microwave popcorn have been known to
cause lung problems in people
working in the popcorn making
plants.
So , if you're like us and enjoy the
convenience of microwave popcorn ,
but don't want to expose yourself to
any more nasty chemical stuff than
you have to ...then here's a neat
money & health saving way to make
your own microwave popcorn. |

To
make your own Microwave popcorn you'll need a
paper lunch bag , popcorn and oil.
We use Olive Oil , but regular cooking oil also
works fine for this.
You can also make this with no oil it you'd
prefer. |

Place 2 tablespoons of Pop Corn in the bag and
pour about 1-1/2 teaspoons of oil in the bag |

Fold
over the top of the bag a few times ( we've
heard that some people staple their bags closed
and have no problems with this ) ...now give the
bag a good shake to coat the popcorn with oil. |

Place the bag on its side in the microwave and
if your microwave has a popcorn setting use that
...if not set your microwave for 3 minutes .
For safety , make sure you hang around your
microwave and stop it when you hear the popping
slowing down...if you let it go too long it's
possible for the bag to catch on fire.

Once it's done
you're ready to eat it as is or season it up any
way you like...
Here at The Mobile Homestead our favorite
popcorn is seasoned with Real Butter ,
Nutritional Yeast , Garlic Powder , Grated
Parmesan & Sea Salt. |
